• During the summer months, Captain Jake prefers to nearshore fish for Shark, Spanish Mackerel, Cobia and other species located near reefs and ledges in the ocean. These trips provide an excellent opportunity to catch several species and without dealing with the overcrowded backwater.
  • Trophy Fall Fishing, is Captain Jake’s favorite time to fish. Every fall, the large breeder-size (bull) redfish migrate to our waters and school along the beach and the inlets.  These fish will test your strength, with some measuring over 40 inches, they will battle until the very end.  As the water temperature begins to cool by mid November, the redfish will begin to move offshore and the Speckled Trout bite will be in full swing.  During this time we will catch several Trout and Black Drum for dinner if you chose to.  Fall fishing very rarely provides a dull moment; the cooling water temperatures spark voracious appetites in the fish.

Tours & Cruises:

  • Dolphin Cruises: The Brunswick Islands of North Carolina provide plenty of opportunities during the summer to see bottlenose dolphins in their natural habitat.  The dolphins can certainly be spotted from the beach but nothing is more exciting than seeing them up close from the boat.  Captain Jake loves taking families to see these graceful animals up close and provide plenty of photo opportunities to share with friends.  Taking a tour with us is much more private and customizable than the large party vessels.
  • Eco/Bird Cruises: There are numerous species that inhabit the backwater of the Brunswick Islands.  These tours focus on exploring the beautiful backwater/marsh habitat of our “backyard.”  These tours also provide numerous photo opportunities and an educational experience of birds in their natural habitat.  For longer customizable tours, clients can pack a shore lunch and explore the west side of Bird Island.  These tours often leave in the morning when lighting is just right for photo opportunities.
  • Sunset Cruises: There is a reason our backyard, Sunset Beach, has this wonderful name.  Most evenings provide outstanding photo opportunities that may become a treasured piece of art in your home.  These tours leave the dock in the late afternoon and return at dusk.

Rates are $200 for the first 2 hours (1-3 clients, $50 extra for 4th) and then $75 for each additional hour. Tour times are determined from when we leave the dock to when we return to the dock.
